Opinion: Jose Mourinho Is the Man For Tottenham Jose Mourinho is known for his outstanding legacy at many elite European clubs such as Chelsea, Manchester United, Real Madrid, Inter Milan, and Porto. However, there has been a lot of controversy among Tottenham fans about whether Mourinho is the man for Tottenham. Tottenham haven't won a major honor since 2008, when they won the League Cup. Spurs fans have been crying out for a trophy, but no manager has been able to bring a silverware back to White Hart Lane and the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium. When Levy appointed Mourinho as the manager at Tottenham, the goal was to win trophies at the club.
